What do we do?
ACOT provides effective solutions to skills shortages by facilitating the necessary skill development that supports desired outcomes for business and career progression for individuals.
How do we do it?
ACOT’s specialised ‘Centres of Excellence’ deliver customised, nationally accredited training programs that are focused on developing industry partnerships and providing quality practical experience. ACOT’s approach to teaching is focused around our Centre of Excellence concept of Training Organisation run enterprise that delivers ‘industry embedded’ training primarily within its own facility and also in conjunction with local industry. How are we different?
This strategic approach ensures ACOT is uniquely placed to meet the major challenge facing VET - shifting as much training as possible from classrooms to the workplace. This initiative increases the relevance, value and immediacy of all our training.
Centre of Excellence at the Thornbury Theatre
In early August 2008, ACOT launched its first specialised Centre of Excellence - an industry led, enterprise based, training centre located within The Thornbury Theatre. The centre is guided by an industry advisory committee, to ensure products and services are aligned with local and national industry standards. This ensures ACOT’s scope of delivery is set by the needs of business and will be extended and modified in response to the requirements of The Thornbury Theatre and our other industry partners
